Dear Community Jazz Musicians!
We are excited to welcome you to our Community Jazz Jam at Bistro La Cave. We’ve designed this event with the aim of fostering camaraderie, sharing our love for jazz, and offering an inclusive stage for talented community musicians to showcase their skills alongside our house band.
We wanted to take this opportunity to clarify some important aspects of the event, to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
- Role of the House Band: We hire a house band to support the jam, as needed. Their role is to keep the music going throughout the event.
- Rotating Seats: We encourage participation from community musicians. If an attendee wishes to play an instrument that is already being played by a house band member, we encourage our house band members to graciously relinquish their seats. This allows for a vibrant rotation of musicians and a dynamic, ever-evolving jam session.
- Host’s Discretion: The host of the event will be responsible for managing the rotation of musicians and determining when a community member’s time on stage should conclude. This decision is made in the best interest of the overall musical experience for everyone involved. Please address the host if you have concerns or questions!
- Respecting the Community: The primary goal of the Community Jazz Jam is to provide a platform for community musicians to play with our house band and enjoy a live music experience. While we do compensate our house band, this event is about inclusivity, respect, and the shared love of music. We kindly ask all participants to respect this goal and each other’s opportunities to perform and learn from one another.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We believe these guidelines will help us create an environment that is enjoyable, fair, and memorable for everyone involved.
We’re looking forward to a successful Community Jazz Jam!
